Mangroves are a hardy semi-aquatic plant that can thrive in almost any aquarium as long as the top of the plant is not submerged. They are one of the few plants that can happily grow in saltwater, brackish water, and freshwater. In addition to decorating your tank, they help keep your water clean by filtering out nitrates. This is a great beginner plant for anyone new to aquascaping. Just give it some light and watch it grow!
What makes the Orange (aka “Oriental”) Mangrove unique? These have the best flowers of any of the mangrove species! They range from orange to pink to red, and are by far the showiest (especially compared to their Red cousin).
Orange Mangroves also have the largest leaves of any mangrove species, and start putting out impressive foliage at a younger age. If the Red variety is too slow for you, you might find the quicker growth of the Orange more satisfying.
Note: These plants are currently acclimated to freshwater.
Care Instructions: Place plant in soil, sand, or allow it to float in water. The water can be fresh, brackish, or salt. Make sure the roots are submerged and the leaves are above water. They do best in full sun or with an equivalent grow light. The water can be room temperature or heated.
