This is a vintage aquarium ornament. They don’t make them like this anymore! Besides being beautiful, ceramic decor has a wonderful heft to it, which makes it easy to place and unlikely to be knocked over by rambunctious fish. Unlike modern aquarium ornaments, these do not contain plastics or resin, so you can rest assured that they are 100% safe and have long-term durability.
This one is a discontinued design from Underwater Galleries which they called the “Romanian Castle.” It is unglazed, which makes it much more amenable to allowing things like mosses to attach and grow on it. If you have any shy fish, they will appreciate the two swim-throughs and one hide that this castle provides.
This castle is BIG. Make sure to double check the dimensions before you try to put it in a nano tank!
