This is a vintage aquarium ornament. They don’t make them like this anymore! Besides being beautiful, ceramic decor has a wonderful heft to it, which makes it easy to place and able to withstand rambunctious fish. Unlike modern aquarium ornaments, these do not contain plastics or resin, so you can rest assured that they are 100% safe and have long-term durability.
It’s double the trouble with these twin landscape rocks! If you have fish that love swim-throughs, these are the ticket. They have an interesting air-brushed paint job that makes it look like they are dramatically lit no matter where you put them. Most likely they were made sometime in the 1970’s. There are a few chips that give each rock individual character. They also don’t have the traditional ceramic glaze found on most ornaments which gives them a rough porous texture (like actual rocks!).
